Skill sheet reminder!
When in a stressful situation, especially being bullied use the “skills” you have learned:
THINK AND USE
S.T.A.R. then B.E.S.T.
S top B lank body Language (no fear/anger )
T hink E ye Contact (longer than usual)
A ssess S ilence ( wait to reply )
R elax and/or Respond T ell them what you want (ie "I want
you to leave me alone")
(Do not React)
Remember the bullying child/youth wants a reaction. Do not give it to them. Instead use your “skills”.
Thank you to Vedder Elementary students and staff for coming up with B.E.S.T. A great way to remember the skills!
